KSC got off to a fast start on the first night of the Speedo Northwest sectional championships. The men's 800 free relay quartet of Austin Hirstein, Ryan Stack, Jake Urbano and Kale Ai finished second overall in a blistering time of 6:42.93. Their time was less than a second off the sectional record. The women's 800 free relay team of Jasmine Mau, Lena Hayakawa, Rebecca Walton, and Maia Petrides placed as well with a 15th place finish. Jake Urbano also got on the awards stand with a sizzling time of 9:24.59 in the men's 1000 yard free to finish 7th overall. After the first day of competition the KSC men are tied for second overall and the women are in 13th place. There are over 170 teams competing from Northwest section.
