KSC Wins 23rd Straight State Championship Title in Kona!
Congratulations to all the swimmers who participated in this past weekend's State Championship meet in Kona! KSC won its 23rd straight title thanks to an amazing team performance. Twenty-eight Hawaiian State Records were set by KSC swimmers over the weekend with nineteen in the relays and nine individually. Grace Monahan broke the 10 and under 50 fly record with a 29.29. Kevin Frifeldt took down the 17-18 100 freestyle record with a relay lead-off 44.86. Jasmine Mau broke the 17-18 and Open records for the 200 freestyle (1:47.55), 100 backstroke (54.20), and the 200 backstroke (2:00.52). Lena Hayakawa took down the 15-16 200 breaststroke with a 2:17.64 while Corrine Shigeta took down the 17-18 record with a 2:18.41.
The team is now looking forward to upcoming meets which includes Age Group meets Jan 19 and Feb23, the High School State Championships in February, and Age Group and Senior Sectional Championships in March.
