Kamehameha Swim Club swimmers had a big weekend at the 2014 High School State Championships Feb 14-15. Swimmers were well represented at the meet scoring many final swims and taking 7 individual titles while breaking 5 Hawaii High School State records.
State champions included Ryan Stack (200fr, 500fr), Kanoa Kaleoaloha (100fr), Kevin Frifeldt (100fly), Jasmine Mau (200fr, 100fly), and Rebecca Walton (500fr). Ryan Stack broke the state record in the 200 free (1:37.83) during prelims and the 100 free (45.19) while leading off the 400 free relay. Jasmine's 100 fly broke the National Independent High School record for the event. It has been many decades since a Hawaii swimmer has broken a national high school record.
