2023 Senior Short Course Championships 

We would like to congratulate KSC for coming in first place at this year’s Short Course Senior Championships. There were many great swims from our swimmers and we even had three swimmers that made new time cuts. Kamakana Kaahaaina and Aaron Zhao made Senior Sectionals in the 50 free and 200 breaststroke respectively. Sala Yasumi made her first Junior National qualifying time in the 200 breaststroke. Congratulations Kamakana, Aaron Zhao, and Sala Yasumi. We would also like to congratulate Sage Miller on earning the top point earner for the women’s division. It was great to be able to race multiple mainland teams that came as well. 

Top Four Men Performers

Jordan Bridgeford had many great swims. Jordan made the most improvements in in his 200 backstroke, finishing with a time of 2:00.14, shattering his previous time by 17.56 seconds.

Kieran Lee most notable event was his 1650 freestyle event. Kieran finished with a time of 18:09.13, crushing his old time by 1 minute and 22 seconds. 

Derek had his best swim in the 500 freestyle event last weekend with a time of 4:56.21, getting under 5 minutes, and dropping 22 seconds.

Nicholas Davidson finished with a time of 2:05.72 in his 200 medley, dropping 8.37 seconds. 

Congratulations Jordan, Kieran, Derek, and Nicholas on your exceptional performances. 

Top Four Women Performers 

Kamakana made great improvements in her 50 freestyle with a time of 24.95 seconds, dropping 1.17 seconds.

Lena’ala Wong crushed her previous 200 freestyle time by 9.47 seconds, finishing with a new personal best time of of 1:56.20, 

Kaileilani Lapp Harvey’s 100 backstroke was her best event of the whole meet, dropping 3.7 second, Kailei finished with a new best time of 1:02.12 

Sage Miller lowered her 200 backstroke, dropping 6 seconds, and finishing with a new best time of 2:04.88. 

Thank you to all the parent volunteers that came and helped during the swim meet. Great job to all our swimmers and we can’t wait to see what you will all do in our next meet.
