KSC competed in the Senior meet at the Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center last week Saturday. We had great swims all around. Below are some top improvements in the men’s and women’s divisions:
Men’s Division
Cooper Ketchen dropped 2.50 seconds in his 400 freestyle, securing a new Western Zones cut with a new personal best time of 4:53.93. Congratulations Cooper!
Timothy Lorge gained a new personal best time in his 400 medley with a time of 5:25.93, dropping 11.73 seconds.
Cheveyo Rodriguez gained a new personal best time in his 100 freestyle with a time of 1:02.65, dropping 7.10 seconds.
Women’s Division
Alyssa Tongg swam her best 100 freestyle this past weekend with a time of 1:07.99, dropping 2.84 seconds.
Kona Flanagan dropped 6.56 seconds in her 100 butterfly with a new personal best time of 1:16.69.
Bryce Burton gained a new personal best time in her 200 medley with a time of 2:41.65.
Kamehameha Swim Club also participated at the Distance meet at the Veterans Memorial Aquatic Center last week Saturday. Here are just a few of the big swims we had:
In the 10 and under boys’ division we had 4 boys swim their very first 400 freestyle race. Congratulations to David Jun, Ari Megill, River Shin, and Makoa Barton for getting personal best times in the 400 freestyle.
In the 10 and under girls’ division Riley Hamlin had her fastest swim in the 400 freestyle to date, dropping almost 21 seconds as she stopped the clock at a time of 5:48.88.
In the 11-12 girls’ division Mana Matsuoka gained a new State qualifying time in the 400 freestyle with a time of 6:39.29. In the 11-12 boys’ division Jack Nguyen had a terrific swim in his 400 medley with a time of 6:03.94, dropping 31.56 seconds. Congratulations to Porter ‘Oneil for swimming under the Western Zones qualifying cut and finishing with a new personal best time of 4:51.95.
In the boys 13-14 age group division Liko Lambert swam two best times in his 800 freestyle with a 400 split time of 4:55.33 and 9:44.68, dropping 1 min and 45 seconds in his 800! In the 13-14 girls’ division Hanah Sanders swam her best time in her 800 freestyle with a time of 11:07.42.
Lastly in the 15-18 girls’ division Journei Webster swam her best time yet 800 freestyle with a 32.82 second drop, clocking in with a time of 10:27.44. In the 15-18 boys’ division Derek Hunsaker crushed his previous 800 freestyle time by 13.36 seconds with a new best time of 9:20.19.
