Novice Meet at Punahou (MEET RESULTS)

Kamehameha Swim Club participated in the Novice swim meet at Punahou School on May 25th. The meet was a great success with many of our swimmers gaining new best times. Below are some of the swimmers that made huge improvement in their races:

10 and Under Age group

Lennox Coglietta and Gameela Campbell had a great meet with best times in all their events. Lennox made the most improvement in his 50 backstroke, dropping 16 seconds with a time of 50.51. Gameela Campbell improved her 50 butterfly by 14.26 seconds with a time of 46.02. Congratulations!

11-12 Age Group

‘Aukai Glushenko dropped time in her 50 breaststroke with a time of 54.21, dropping almost 10 seconds from her previous best time. Hoku Fernandez had a great 50 backstroke, dropping 18.38 seconds, and clocking in at a time of 44.57. Congratulations!

13-14 Age Group

Kaya Pascual dropped time in her 100 freestyle with a time of 1:05.54 seconds, dropping 10.26 seconds from her previous best time. Jinu Kim had a great 100 freestyle, dropping 9.58 seconds, and clocking in at a time of 1:03.68. Congratulations Kaya and Jinu!

 

Rainbow Invitational 

The 13th annual Rainbow Invitational was held last weekend at the Veteran Memorial Aquatic Center. Kamehameha Swim Club secured the 1st place finish with the help of all the athletes that attended. Thank you to all the parents that volunteered and cheered on your swimmers from the sidelines. Here are the weekend's meet results: MEET RESULTS

 

We had three high point earners and one team record at this week’s invite. Congratulations to you all! Congratulations to Amar’e San Diego beating the team record in the boys 13-14 200 breaststroke event with a new personal best time and team record of 2:28.97. High Point earners are listed below.

We had many fantastic swims, and below are just a few:

 

In the 10 and under division we had Lennox Coglietta and Saela Flanagan and dropping big times in their events. Lennox dropped 12.15 seconds in the 50 freestyle, clocking in at a new personal best time of 45.83. Saela swam her very best in the 100 freestyle with a new personal best time of 1:26.15, dropping her time by an impressive 22.51 seconds! 

 

In the 11-12 division both Porter Oneil and Isla Flanagan had major improvements in the majority of their races. Porter dropped 12.62 seconds in his 50 butterfly, clocking in at a time of 37.31. Isla dropped 11 seconds in her 100 backstroke with a time of 40.07

 

In the 13-14 girl's division Katie Fujimoto made great improvements in her 200 freestyle, lowering her time by 14.13 seconds, clocking in at 2:32.45 which is a new State qualifying time. In the 13-14 boys division, Amar’e San Diego made great improvements in his 100 backstroke with a new time of 1:13.46, dropping 12.66 seconds.

 

Lastly in the Open Men’s division Noah Britos made a significant improvement in his 100 butterfly, lowering his time by 11.13 seconds, and finishing with a time of 1:15.53. In the Open women’s division Caitlyn Moore also had a best 100 butterfly, dropping 5.22 seconds and gaining a new best time of 1:16.99.
