Senior Sectional Championships

Kamehameha Swim Club

Senior Sectionals Oregon

Congratulations to our swimmers Luke Biddle, Derek Hunsaker, Timothy Lorge, Amar’e San Diego, Kaenan Joyce, Evan Lim, and Nicholas Xu for representing Kamehameha Swim Club at this year’s Senior Sectional Championships in Mt. Hood, Oregon. This meet had a great field of competitors, and our swimmers were up for the challenge.

We would like to congratulate Amar’e San Diego for beating the State record in the 100 breaststroke which originally belong to him with a new blistering fast time of 1:06.94. This time also ranks Amar’e in the top 10 fastest times in the country for boys 13–14-year-old age group. Way to go!

Top time drops from the competitors:

Luke Biddle had a terrific 800 freestyle with a best time of 9:06.48, dropping 7 seconds from his previous time just a couple of months ago.

Derek Hunsaker made a splash in his 200-freestyle dropping nearly 3 seconds to secure a new personal best time of 2:01.44.

Timothy Lorge also had a terrific 200-freestyle, dropping almost 5 seconds and gaining a new personal best time of 2:09.37.

Amar’e San Diego made a huge improvement in the 200 medley, dropping 2.35 seconds and finishing with a time of 2:22.68.

Kaenan Joyce swam a terrific 200 backstroke, finishing with a new personal best time of 2:23.63, besting his previous time of 2:24.64.

Nicholas Xu had a great meet with all of his swims being personal best times. His best time was swum during the 100 butterfly, dropping 3 seconds and stopping the clock at 1:03.55.
Lastly we want to acknowledge our youngest qualifier Evan Lim who unfortunately broke his foot prior to competing. Evan dealt with the injury in stride and spent the week supporting his teammates. We look forward to seeing more from Evan when he is back in the pool!

Congratulations to all of our swimmers and thank you parents for giving your swimmers this opportunity to excel and strive to be their best. Hope to see you all on the pool deck this Friday at the summer Long Course State Championships. Have a great day and Go KSC!!
