Bill Smith Invitational Results

Kamehameha Swim Club

KSC hosted and competed at this year's Bill Smith Invitational last weekend. The event is named after former KSC swim coach and 1948 Olympics Gold Medallist Bill Smith.The meet was a great success and KSC came up on top with a 1st place finish. Thank you to all the parents and coaches who spent months planning this meet. A lot went into making this meet run smoothly and we can't thank you all enough. 

 

Many KSC swimmers earned high point awards in their respective age groups. The 10 & Under girl’s high point earner goes to Jia Kim. In the girls 13-14 age group Maddie Stuemke won the high point award. Journei Webster captured the girls 15-16 age group high point earner. Congratulations to all of you! 

 

We had a lot of great swims and hard earned wins during this weeks meet. We would like to congratulate all the swimmers that attended and would like to showcase the best improvements for each age group:

 

10&Under

Saela Flanagan improved her 100 breaststroke by over 4 seconds, finishing with a time of 1:29.15 seconds.Christopher Navarro swam his quickest 100 freestyle with a time of 1:24.88 seconds.Great job swimmers!

 

11-12

Jeannie Wu had a great swim 100 freestyle, finishing with a time of 1:17.69, and dropping a little under 6 seconds. Elliott Mannis-Young made the greatest improvement in his 50 breaststroke, dropping 5.28 seconds, finishing with a time of 34.44 secondsGreat job swimmers!

 

13-14

Caroline Biddle dropped almost 15 seconds in her 200 backstroke, with a lifetime best of 2:31.28Jinu Kim crushed his 100 breaststroke with over 23 seconds cut from his previous time with a new best time of 1:23.47. Great job swimmers!

 

15-16

Athea Sjoblom had a fast 50 freestyle, cutting almost a second clocking in with a time of 25.16Timothy Lorge finished his 100 butterfly last weekend with a new lifetime best of 54.48Great job swimmers!

 

Open

Paulina Chavis made her biggest improvement in her 100 butterfly last weekend with a new personal best time of 1:03:00, dropping almost 2.85 seconds.  Jacob Gorokhovsky swam his fastest 100 butterfly yet. Clocking under the 1-minute barrier with a new best time of 59.48. Great job swimmers!

 

Congratulations to all those that swam this weekend. Lastly, thank you to all the volunteers and coaches for making this swim meet possible.
