KSC swimmers scorched the competition at the 2011 Hawaii State Long Course Championship breaking 7 Hawaii State Records on the way to scoring 2020 total team points. KSC's team total was nearly 1200 point more than the second place team. Individual High point winners were Chrisian Nishimura for 11-12 boys, Kevin Frifeldt for 13-14 boys, Jasmine Mau for 15-16 girls, and Kacy Johnson for 17-18 boys. KSC swimmers took part in the USA National 5K and 10K Championships in Fort Lauderdale this past weekend. The 10K event on June 10 was trials for the Olympics with the top 2 swimmers moving on to the World Championships in China for the Olympic qualifying. KSC swimmers all finished in the top half during one of the roughest conditions ever for a National Championship event. KSC Swimmers wrap up the 2011 Speedo Northwest Sectional Championships in style breaking a grand total of 13 Hawaii State Records and finishing 11th out of 154 teams. Some of the highlights of the final two days of competition... The 15-16 girls kept their momentum going this week at the 2011 Senior Sectional Championships by shattering the Hawaiian Record for the girls 800 Free Relay. Swimmers Summer Harrison, Anu Nihipali, Natsuko Muranaka, and Jasmine Mau recorded an impressive time of 7:40.83 breaking the old Hawaiian record set back in 1983 by almost 17 seconds. KSC's 15-16 girls relay team of Anu Nihipali, Kira Fox, Jasmine Mau, and Summer Harrison broke the 200 Medley Hawaiian Record with a time of 1:46.02 breaking the old record of 1:50.07. Jasmine Mau finished 12th in the women's 100 freestyle while Kacy Johnson finished 5th in the men's 200 fly. Jacob Urbano also earned a second swim by finishing 19th in the men's 200 fly. The men's 200 Medley relay team of Jacob Urbano, Evan Uy, Kevin Frifeldt and Kacy Johnson finished 12th.
